Belly Super Positioning

Combine upper- and lower-body controls to move precisely around another flyer while maintaining stability, heading, and altitude.

Prerequisite: Belly-Flying Up & Down.

Desired outcome: Combine upper- and lower-body controls to move precisely around another flyer while maintaining stability, heading, and altitude.

Reference material: IBA Flight Tutorial #11.

Key points:

  • Learn lateral movement first, then add rotation while maintaining eye contact and altitude.
  • Use clear visual references to stop in the intended relative position.
  • Combine lateral and vertical movement only after each can be controlled independently.
  • Progress to coordinated lateral, vertical, and rotational movement using the whole body.

Coaching and safety: Start with one movement axis at a time and use small, controlled inputs. Increase complexity only when the flyer can stop accurately and remain aware of the other participant.
